Resilience, an Anthology Competition

WiVLA is sponsoring an anthology competition for WiVLA members and Texas writers who identify as women. The theme of our inaugural competition is RESILIENCE. The following categories comprise the competition and the published anthology:

• Fiction: <1,000 words

• Non-Fiction: <1,000 words

• Flash Fiction: <500 words

• Flash Non-Fiction: <500 words

• Poetry: 1-3 poems/entry

• Cover Art: One image per entry

• Title: 1-3 titles/entry

Maximum number of entries: 3 literary categories per person.

Important entry guidelines

• No simultaneous submissions. No previously published work.

• For the anthology, “published work” means published in print in North America or published on the Internet in electronic journals, e-zines, academic websites, and other “public” or “official” websites.
  
  Works posted on personal blogs or websites will be considered case-by-case. We ask that authors be honest about web postings. (If a work is discovered to have been posted or published elsewhere—and not openly acknowledged by the author in advance—we will remove it from consideration.)

• Only select the member entry fee if you are a current WiVLA member. If one or more submissions are made at the member discounted price and the person submitting the entry is not a current member of WiVLA at the time of the entry, the entries will be disqualified, and the fees will be forfeited. No refunds will be issued.

• Submissions using AI-generated content and art will be disqualified, and no refunds will be issued. Please submit only original stories written by you.

• In the poetry category, only written entries are eligible. Ekphrastic, erasure, blackout poems, or other works accompand by or based on images are not eligible.
